Fluid bed processing has long been used in the Pharmaceutical and Chemical industries as a way of enhancing the characteristics of powders, drying products and applying a coating to the surface of particles or beads with active or functional compounds designed for controlling release of the product.
Over the last 60 years, a number of considerable developments have been made on the traditional top spraying fluid bed.
