Bosch Packaging opens Center for Advanced Track & Trace in order to meet customer’s growing expectations

Bosch Packaging, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of machines for the pharma and food industries, recently opened its new Center for Advanced Track & Trace in Waiblingen near Stuttgart, Germany. The center has a modular design, with the aim to offer existing and potential customers various options for Track & Trace, which will strategically add to the existing range of machines, software and services.

“Bosch Packaging Technology is always focused on partnerships instead of having classic customer-supplier relationships. We provide services that complement our existing comprehensive service concept. When it comes to complex and multi-faceted topics such as Track & Trace, pharmaceutical companies must be able to rely on their partners and receive quick support from a single source. We meet these requirements by providing a global service network and covering all levels of Track & Trace. The new Center for Advanced Track & Trace is another service option we are providing,” explains Ralf Weihbrecht, Sales Manager at Bosch in Waiblingen.

Training is an integral part of our service. In addition to standardized and classic types of training, the new center covers virtual and on-the-job training. The center offers training on data-handling, serialization and verification, control weighing, tamper evident applications, case and pallet aggregation. Furthermore the center offers rework, so that pharmaceutical companies do not have to interrupt their own production for long training sessions. The center can also provide every customer with individual, customized training measures.

Within Testing, customers can test their products and processes using real machines and software solutions. If, for example, pressure tests need to be carried out, Bosch can test the supplied sample material with various printing systems and lasers as well as offer test reports and recommendations. The same applies, for example, for applications such as tamper evident seals, control weighing and the labeling of bottles. Alongside our own expertise, we also incorporate the expertise of our suppliers so that we can provide customers with reliable conclusions and avoid any nasty surprises.

Diverse and long-established partnerships with customers, suppliers, universities and companies from the packaging sector and associated areas enable Bosch Packaging to find solutions for even the most difficult of tasks.

Development is also an important part of our services. Development of projects, prototype designs, special solutions and software simulations: We support customers by improving their current third-party systems or transferring them to new systems.

The Consulting part of our services is not just limited to the consulting of pharma companies but also aimed at other sectors, such as the food, chemical, cosmetics and consumer goods industries. This covers independent project support and/or management, workshop events such as kick-offs, introductions to the topic of Track & Trace and creation of customized concepts.

Jörg Willburger, Product Manager for Track & Trace and one of the initiators: “The Center for Advanced Track & Trace is headquartered in Waiblingen near Stuttgart and therefore has excellent transport links. In 2019, we will be holding one- and two-day events at Bosch Packaging sites in Brazil, Russia, Egypt and Asia, for prospective customers in these regions. We can provide support based on our expertise and the lessons learned from the past few years in regions where pharmaceutical companies are only just starting out.”
