Bosch Packaging Technology and Lighthouse Instruments: cooperation for automated headspace leak detection

Bosch Packaging Technology today announced a cooperation with Lighthouse Instruments, LLC, headquartered in Charlottesville, Virginia, USA. The cooperation will result in a new machine series for pharmaceutical container closure integrity (CCI) testing with laser headspace analysis (HSA) exclusively marketed by Bosch. To this end, Lighthouse will exclusively license and supply Bosch with laser measurement systems for automated pharmaceutical leak detection applications.

Counterfeit drugs are an increasing threat to both patients and the pharmaceutical industry worldwide. Authorities around the world have issued new guidelines in the fight against pharmaceutical counterfeiters. To achieve an even better counterfeit protection, LTS Lohmann Therapie-Systeme AG and Bosch decided to implement an improved product coding. The manufacturer and developer of transdermal therapeutic systems received customer orders for the production and packaging of active ingredient patches. On March 27, 2015, Bosch Packaging Technology Hangzhou, a leading supplier of process and packaging technology, held its Pharma in-house show 2015 in Hangzhou, China.
